Project Manager – Canada

MCK Global are now hiring a Project Manager for a highly successful timber structure construction company based in Canada.  As a brief background the position is with one of Canada’s leading timber structure companies. They are involved in the design, fabrication and erection of innovative timber structures across Canada and the United States such as long span roofs, tall wood buildings, seismic structures, free form structures and large scale mass timber structures. The company in question breaks new ground in design concepts, sophistication, craftsmanship and quality, and their work has been recognised internationally, including numerous awards for innovation in timber construction.  

As a Project Manager you will be working directly with the companies clients as well as working closely with all teams to ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget and also to the highest quality.  You will also be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Creating schedules and coordinating all resources to meet project deliverable’s
  • Leading quality assurance.
  • Provide onsite construction support
  • Present to management reports on progress as well as problems and solutions

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of construction related project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in building science, construction management, or engineering
  • PMP designation or be in process to obtaining
  • Experience managing construction projects with values in excess of $5M

CAD Technician – Ireland

MCK Global are presently recruiting a CAD Technician for a precast concrete company based in Ireland. The position is with one of the leading Irish precast concrete construction companies involved with the design, fabrication and construction of precast concrete structures for high profile commercial and residential buildings in both Ireland and the UK. The company in question is a financially stable and successful organisation providing excellent opportunities for career progression.

As a Structural CAD Technician, you will have the chance to work on a wide range of challenging projects. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed drawings, schedules and specifications. You will be responsible for drafting Precast products including stairs, flooring, hollow-core, double wall, columns and beams. To be considered for this role, you must have at least two years experience preferably in the commercial and residential sectors. Experience detailing precast is a distinct advantage, although reinforced concrete experience will be accepted as a minimum.

Experience:

-Precast concrete and/or reinforced concrete detailing: 2 years (Required)

-Cad detailing: 2 years (Required)

-Residential and commercial sector detailing (Preferred)

Salary

-28,000€ and 35,000€ DOE

Heavy Plant Mechanic

Successful candidates will have experience repairing and maintaining large mining and construction vehicles/ plant. Candidates will be apprenticeship trained and will have field based experience as opposed to solely workshop based.

Steel Fixer

Our client, an established steel reinforcing contractor, requires experienced Steel Fixers for long term work in Alberta, Canada. Successful candidates are required to have substantial experience of installing rebar on major commercial and industrial projects. Foreman experience is also advantageous or as a minimum candidates will possess the skills required to take the step up to leading crews.

Please note the positions are only suitable for individuals or those with families with a strong interest in relocating to Canada on a permanent basis. On offer is the opportunity of continuous and steady employment working on prestigious projects in one of Alberta’s major cities and the oil patch region. The positions bring the prospect of an increased standard of living and career progression. Rates will start at $35.49 CAD per hour or $38.28 CAD per hour depending on the project. It is expected that candidates will have the ability to progress to Foreman level whereupon rates will increase further to $38.15 CAD per hour or $42.11 CAD per hour. In addition, generous assistance will be provided with initial accommodation which will be provided for 2 months to allow new employees time to settle in the area before finding their own property. A $30 CAD daily payment will also be made for two months to help with the transition period.
